Blood Bowl AWG Rookie League (May 2 - Jun 5)

Join us for the first Arrow Wood Games Rookie League. 

Start Date: Saturday May 2nd, 2026

Structure: 5-week regular season with four self-scheduled matches against predetermined opponents, plus a semi-final and final round. Optional 2 week preseason with scheduled preseason nights.

About the League Format:

This season will be played by the Blood Bowl: Third Season official rules.

The league season is made up of 4 overlapping two-week periods. Coaches will self-schedule their assigned matches during the allotted two-week period and report the results using the Tourplay app. Matches can be played in-store during available league time slots, or elsewhere by agreement with their opponent as needed. In-store matches will have access to loaner materials (dice, pitches, etc.). Coaches playing offsite matches will need to provide their own materials.

All league communications will take place through the Arrow Wood Games Discord Server (which will be live before the season begins, we promise!) Participants will be required to sign up for a TourPlay account to register their team and report match results.

Post Season:

League finalists will play single elimination matches to determine a final league champion. The top 4 teams will advance to a semifinals round of self-scheduled knockout matches, after which the last two coaches standing will compete for the title of Rookie League Champ! Post-season matches will be on a slightly accelerated schedule, but will remain self-scheduled. League finals will conclude before the Season Ender event on June 28th. 

Season Ender:

Prizes and player awards will be awarded at the Season Ender event, taking place on Saturday June 28th @ the Backyard Pub. 

League Requirements: 

• Teams must be made up of official Games Workshop miniatures. Please note the following:
• • Coaches are welcome to use any GW miniature in place of another GW miniature (ex. Using a Warhammer Beast of Nurgle in lieu of a Blood Bowl Nurgle Rotspawn is fine).
  • Each coach may use a maximum of THREE non-Games Workshop miniatures in lieu of official Games Workshop miniatures on their team.
• Painting requirements:
• • Official Games Workshop products are not required to be painted so long as they are visually distinguishable player to player and team to team
  • *Any non-Games Workshop  miniatures used under the substitution allowance MUST be FULLY PAINTED painted (not just primed) prior to use
  • While painting is not required for your team, there will be a prize for best paint job, so we encourage you to be creative! Paint jobs will be evaluated by popular vote at the end of the league season.
• While loaner teams are available for in-store games, coaches are expected to have their own miniatures in play by the end of the regular season
• Mini bases should not exceed the standard base size of 32mm.
